PARRAMATTA could be the first city in [NSW] to build recharge stations for electric-powered cars.
Deputy Lord Mayor Chiang Lim is working with the electric vehicle company Better Place Australia to discuss the possibility of introducing the technology over the next two years.

"We’re looking at where we will put the recharge station, how we design the homes and workplaces of the future so they are electric car ready and how to convert existing workplaces and homes,’’ Cr Lim said.

Australia could lead the world in such technology, he said.
