A Parramatta councillor has struck the jackpot and scored the top job on a newsagency and lottery association. Liberal councillor Chiang Lim has been appointed chief executive of the Newsagents Association of NSW and ACT. The association is the industry body representing newsagencies and lottery agents.
Although it’s acronym may be NANA, Cr Lim said he won’t be sleeping when the job starts next month.
He said he wanted to lead the association in a new direction. "I am looking forward to further building upon NANA’s value for its members and successes in the 21st century;’ he said.
Cr Lim would not be drawn on the number of figures in his new salary but did say he was "very happy". He said the contract for the job position was the longest he had everseen.
It’s not Cr Lim’s first top job. He was the first Australian manager for computer manufacturing company ASUS and was head of a human rights organisation.
NANA president Andrew Packham said Cr Lim’s appointment was an "exciting generational change".
What generation Cr Lim is actually from remains a mystery to many. Cr Lim said he has always kept his age to himself.
