Parramatta Business Expo hailed a success

By Parramatta Sun, 27 August 2010

The Parramatta Business Expo has been hailed a success after more than 500 people attended Wednesday's event.

``It was all about networking,'' event organiser and co-founder of the Sydney Women's Network, Natalie Moutia said. ``We found that there was a need for opportunities to market their business so we gave them an expo.'

Ms Moutia said after this years success the expo would return again next year.

``It was really good, better than last year and the feedback from the exhibitors is they appreciated the opportunity to show of their business,'' she said.

Newly re-elected Parramatta MP, Julie Owens, gave her unreserved support for the Parramatta Expo, now in it’s second year, saying Small Businesses in Parramatta create the fabric of the local area and are paramount to economic growth and employment in Parramatta.

The Deputy Lord Mayor of Parramatta Council, Cr Chiang Lim, was also very supportive. The Parramatta Council backs important local economic initiatives and organizations that support local small to medium business. He said the Council would continue to support the Parramatta Business Expo as it helps a growing number of small and medium businesses in the Parramatta area.

More than 50 businesses exhibited at the Expo with over 500 visitors coming through, an increase of 200 visitors from the initial year. Visitors gained important information about the products and services available in the local area.

Businesses were able to network and grow their businesses by finding new clients and customers at the Expo.

And a number of very informative business development workshops were held for all visitors and exhibitors to attend, including how to make the most of radio advertising run by major sponsor Hope FM.

Exhibitors included property investment, business coaching, banking, telecommunications, graphic design, fitness centres, alternative therapies, BASI, employment, events, car dealers, jewellery and fashion, to name a few.

Many exhibitors gave away sample bags, giveaways and free information at this fun and lively business-networking event.

The next Business Expo will be held in Penrith on September 22.
